Trip Details:
Campers will have a fun day on the Billy Goat trail exploring trails along the Potomac River! We will drive to Great Falls National Park and walk to Billy Goat A, an intermediate trail with moderate elevation change and some scrambling (hiking on rocks). Depending on how quickly the campers hike, we will either turn off the trail at the halfway point (1 mile) or continue the full length of the trail (1.75 miles). Once off the trail, campers will walk along the C&O towpath, overlook Great Falls, and then continue to the van to return back to camp.
What to bring: Campers will be walking several miles on both the C&O towpath and on a path through the national park. It is important for campers to have proper footwear, i.e. tennis shoes, Keens, Chacos, Tevas, or hiking boots.
